14 Февруари е денят, в който българите почитат виното и неговия покровител свети Трифон (или Трифон Зарезан). Честването на Св. Трифон представлява далечно отражение на дионисиевите празненства от миналото, когато винарите подрязват лозите и ги ръсят с вино за добра реколта. Съществуват различни версии относно светеца и неговия произход. Напоследък българите празнуват или Св. Валентин или Трифон Зарезан, или и двамата, защото 14 февруари е общ празник за двамата светци покровители. Надяваме се нашата многообична смешна Валентинка (не съвсем като в Златната легенда) да помогне за „възвръщането на зрението” на някой в нужда.
February, 14 is the day when Bulgarians celebrate wine and its patron saint Trifon (also known as Trifon Zarezan = the ‘snub-nosed’). St Trifon’s celebrations are a remote reverberation of the ancient Dionysus festivities when winegrowers prune the vines and sprinkle them with wine for a good harvest. There are different versions about the saint and his origin. In recent years most of the Bulgarians are celebrating either St. Valentine or Trifon Zarezan or both because they share a common patron saint’s day, celebrated on 14 February. We hope that our beloved and funny Valentine Glory (not quite like in the Golden Legend) will help “to restore the sight” of someone in need.
Le 14 février est le jour où les bulgares célèbrent le vin et son patron saint Trifon (ou Trifon Zarezan = dont le nez est coupé). Les célébrations à l’occasion de St. Trifon représentent un écho lointain des festins dyonisiaques quand les viticulteurs coupent les vignes et les arrosent du vin pour une bonne vendange. Il existe de différentes versions autour du saint et son origine. Ces dernières années les bulgares fêtent soit la St. Valentine, soit Trifon Zarezan, soit les deux à la fois, parce qu’ils ont en commun le même jour du patron – le 14 février. On espère que notre chère Valentine amusante (pas tout à fait comme dans la Légende Dorée) va aider quelqu’un, dans le besoin, de « retrouver la vue ».
